What about flag manufacturers?

Some students who went to the Canberra demonstration on 24 April told me that they asked their relatives in China to send them flags. There have been posts on the Internet about how people were also sending donations of flags to Japan and Korea after students there issued a “call for help.”

Today’s New York Times has an article about the Serbian elections, which the (more) nationalists lost.  It says that

Zoran Rikic, 40, owner of Serbia’s largest flag manufacturer, said he had supported Mr. Tadic, even though the upsurge of nationalism in Serbia stirred up by the far right had helped generate a 20 percent increase in sales of Serbian flags in recent months.

Rather than embrace the new nationalist fervor, Mr. Rikic said he wanted Serbia to align itself irreversibly with the European Union so that the economy would improve and then every Serb could afford his flags.

I wonder what Chinese flag manufacturers think.
